Overview
A set of two uncirculated North Korean foreign exchange certificates (“won-chon” notes) of 1988 – 10 Chon and 5 Chon, issued by the Foreign Trade Bank. These certificates were used by foreign visitors and are far scarcer than ordinary North Korean notes. Together the two notes carry a face value of 15 Chon.

- Back: A large figure 10 inside a blue and red rosette between two bands of repeated 10-chon marks, on a red-brown note

2. 5 Chon – 1988 (foreign exchange certificate)
- Front: A large figure 5 and the Korean word “O Chon” beside the national emblem and the Foreign Trade Bank name, on a pale lilac note
- Back: A large figure 5 inside a blue and red rosette between two bands of repeated 5-chon marks, on a red-brown note
