Overview
A set of three different 1 Kyat banknotes of Burma / Myanmar – a Central Bank of Myanmar note with a soldier portrait, a green Union of Burma Bank note and a blue Central Bank of Myanmar note with the Chinthe lion. The three designs come from different periods of the country’s paper-money history, so together they show how the 1 Kyat note changed from one issue to the next.

- Back: A carved decorative pillar and a star-shaped lotus design with the wording “One Kyat”

2. 1 Kyat – Union of Burma Bank (green)
- Front: Portrait of a uniformed soldier in a peaked cap beside a blue geometric panel, on a green Union of Burma Bank note
- Back: A traditional spinning wheel inside a round lotus medallion, with the wording “One Kyat”
- Serial Number: NV 1767312
3. 1 Kyat – Chinthe lion (blue)
- Front: A seated Chinthe, the mythical temple lion, in blue-grey tones on a Central Bank of Myanmar note
- Back: A royal barge and long racing boats on the river, with the wording “One Kyat”
- Serial Number: Printed in Burmese numerals – see photographs
