1. 5 Bolívares – dated 19 December 2008
   The Bolívar Fuerte begins. In 2008 Venezuela introduced a “strong bolívar”, removing three zeros from the old currency. Front: bust of Pedro Camejo, “Negro Primero”. Back: giant armadillos.

2. 2000 Bolívares – dated 18 August 2016
   Inflation takes hold. Prices rose so fast that far larger notes had to be printed. Front: Chief Guaicaipuro. Back: a harpy eagle.

3. 2 Bolívares – dated 15 January 2018
   Five zeros disappear. In 2018 the Bolívar Soberano replaced the Fuerte – one new bolívar for 100,000 old ones. Front: Josefa Camejo. Back: a parrot.

4. 20 Bolívares – dated 15 January 2018
   From the same new series. Front: Simón Rodríguez, teacher of Simón Bolívar. Back: a jaguar.

5. 50 Bolívares – dated 15 January 2018
   From the same new series. Front: Antonio José de Sucre. Back: a cunaguaro (ocelot) among palm trees.

6. 200,000 Bolívares – 2020
   The zeros come back. Within two years the new currency needed a 200,000 note. Front: Simón Bolívar. Back: the Mausoleum of the Liberator in Caracas.
